Terms of Use

These terms apply to the RAGBRAI Portal website at ragbraiportal.com and the RAGBRAI Portal apps for iPhone and Android. "RAGBRAI", "we" and "us" mean the organizers of RAGBRAI (the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa), who run the portal. By signing in, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Your account

• Accounts are for RAGBRAI staff and host-town volunteers, by invitation or approved request.
• Each account is for one person. Keep your password private, and tell us right away if you think someone else has used your account.
• Keep your name and email address accurate so others know who they're working with.
• We may turn off accounts that are no longer needed, for example after a town's ride year ends.

2. Community rules

The portal only works if everyone can trust it. There is no place in it for objectionable content or abusive behavior. Don't post, upload or send anything that:

• harasses, bullies, threatens or intimidates anyone
• is hateful or demeaning toward people because of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or any similar trait
• is sexually explicit, violent or otherwise obscene
• is spam, advertising, or unrelated to planning RAGBRAI
• shares someone else's personal information without their permission
• pretends to be someone else, or is false or misleading on purpose
• is illegal, encourages illegal activity, or infringes someone's copyright or other rights

Also don't try to get into accounts or parts of the portal you haven't been given, interfere with how the portal works, upload harmful files, or copy data out of the portal in bulk.

3. Reporting, blocking and removal

• Report any forum thread or reply in the app from its "…" menu, or email ragbraiportal@gmail.com.
• RAGBRAI reviews every report within 24 hours. We remove content that breaks these terms, and we may suspend or close the account of anyone who posted it.
• You can block another member in the app to stop seeing their threads and replies.
• We may also remove any content, or suspend any account, that we believe breaks these terms or puts riders, volunteers or the public at risk, whether or not it was reported.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You give RAGBRAI permission to store, show and share it within the portal, and to use it to plan and run RAGBRAI. Only post things you have the right to share. Forum posts and planning records stay in the portal after you delete your account, as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Planning information

Documents, routes, schedules and other planning information in the portal are shared to help plan RAGBRAI. Don't publish them or share them outside your town's planning work unless RAGBRAI has made them public or given you permission. RAGBRAI's names and logos belong to RAGBRAI.

6. Other services

The portal links to and uses other services, such as maps, online document editing and forms. Their own terms apply when you use them.

7. Leaving the portal

You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → Delete account, or by emailing us. We may suspend or close accounts as described above.

8. Disclaimers

We work to keep the portal accurate and available, but it's provided as it is. Plans, routes and schedules can change, and the portal may sometimes be unavailable. Don't rely on the portal for emergencies: call 911.

9. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, RAGBRAI isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for anything other members post, arising from your use of the portal.

10. Changes to these terms

When we change these terms we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the portal or by email. Continuing to use the portal after a change means you accept the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa.
